1.01 The Executioners was the first episode shown of the series
1.02 The Woman from White Wing tells some of Judge’s past and also about Betsy’s parentage
1.03 Throw a Long Rope may have been first one filmed and has a character study of Judge Garth and the Virginian
1.09 It Tolls for Thee deals with Judge’s, Molly’s, and Virginian’s character
1.13 The Accomplice contains the line from Wister’s book, "when you call me that, smile."
1.14 The Man from the Sea - Molly tells the girls, "You can call him The Virginian. Everyone else does."
1.15 Duel at Shiloh is a flashback of Steve coming to Shiloh
2.01 Ride a Dark Trail is flashback of Trampas coming to Shiloh
2.11 The Fatal Journey resolves Molly's absence from the show
2.19 The Drifter is flashback of Virginian coming to Shiloh
2.20 First to Thine Own Self is Randy coming to Shiloh
3.01 Ryker is how Ryker came to be deputy of Medicine Bow
3.05 Felicity’s Spring is a Virginian love story and was supposedly one of the most popular episodes
4.05 The Awakening is the episode where Betsy gets married

7.07 The Heritage was herald as presenting Native Americans in good light, and Buffy Ste. Marie, who was the guest star, helped with production
7.23 Storm Over Shiloh (in my opinion) probably the best "Shiloh Family" episode
8.01 The Long Ride Home introduces Tim Matheson as new Shiloh hand Jim Horn
8.17 Holocaust because the ranch house is burned and it shows the Shiloh family atmosphere
